Our charities

Les Buttes was created by our parents, Martin and Josephine Ozanne. As we take it forward, we want part of its future to reflect the care, resilience and belief in people that shaped their lives.

Why these causes matter to us

A legacy of community, care and second chances

Martin and Josephine built Les Buttes, raised their family here and were deeply rooted in Guernsey life. Their experiences shaped the causes we support today — from health and care to giving people a second chance.

Fundraising events

From time to time we will take on fundraising challenges for causes that mean something to our family. You can see what is coming up, find out why we are doing it and support us if you would like to.

HOKA Hackney Half — running for MS-UK

DateSunday 16 May 2027LocationHackney Marshes, London

On Sunday 16 May 2027, Michael, Kate and Kate's daughter Lucie will run the HOKA Hackney Half in support of MS-UK and in memory of Josephine.

Mum lived with multiple sclerosis, so supporting people affected by MS is a cause with a very personal connection for us. MS-UK provides independent information, practical support and services designed around people living with MS.

If you would like to support our run, donations can be made through our GiveStar fundraising page.

Cause we support

MS Society

Support, community and research for everyone affected by multiple sclerosis.

Who are the MS Society

The MS Society supports people living with multiple sclerosis, provides trusted information and practical support, campaigns for better services and funds research into treatments and ways to stop the condition.

Why is the MS Society important to Les Buttes

Josephine lived with multiple sclerosis, so this cause is deeply personal to our family. We know first-hand how MS affects not only the person diagnosed, but the people around them as well.

How are we supporting MS-related causes

We want to keep support for people affected by MS visible through Les Buttes and through our own fundraising. Michael, Kate and Lucie are running the 2027 HOKA Hackney Half in memory of Josephine and in support of MS-UK.

Although that particular event is raising money for MS-UK, it reflects our wider wish to support people affected by multiple sclerosis and the organisations working to improve their lives.

Creative Learning in Prison (CLIP) Guernsey

Cause we support

CLIP Guernsey

Education, practical learning and second chances in the Guernsey community.

Who are CLIP Guernsey

CLIP — Creative Learning in Prison — supports people in Guernsey Prison through education, practical learning and purposeful work that helps prepare them for release and life back in the community.

Why is CLIP important to Les Buttes

This cause has a very personal connection for our family. Martin believed strongly in second chances. Through his building firm he helped some people after release by offering employment, and his work as a prison inspector kept him closely connected with rehabilitation and life after prison.

How are we supporting CLIP Guernsey

For 2027 we will be buying all the garden benches for Les Buttes from Clip. They will give our guests places to sit and enjoy the grounds, while also reflecting on the belief that people deserve opportunities to rebuild their lives.

Flowers growing at GROW Limited's vinery in Guernsey

Cause we support

GROW Limited

Creating opportunities, confidence and independence for adults with learning disabilities and difficulties.

Who are GROW Limited

GROW Limited has supported adults with learning disabilities and difficulties in Guernsey since 1984, helping people build confidence, life skills and independence through occupational training and mentoring. Horticulture remains at the heart of its work, with Crew members learning to grow, care for and sell plants while developing skills in a real working environment.

Why is GROW important to Les Buttes

Our father, Martin, was Education Minister and secured the funding needed for the construction of Le Murier and Le Rondin schools. Those schools transformed the opportunities available to children and young people with learning disabilities in Guernsey. Supporting GROW feels like a natural continuation of his commitment to inclusion, education and opportunity.

How are we supporting GROW Limited

We are delighted that GROW will be supplying the hanging baskets and window boxes around Les Buttes. Their planting will bring colour to the cottages and gardens for our guests to enjoy, while giving us another practical way to support an organisation whose work is rooted in inclusion, purpose and the Guernsey community.

We will replace this temporary image with photographs of the baskets and window boxes at Les Buttes once they are in place.

Les Bourgs Hospice at Andrew Mitchell House in Guernsey

Cause we support

Les Bourgs Hospice

Compassionate hospice, respite and family support for Guernsey and the wider Bailiwick.

Who are Les Bourgs Hospice

Les Bourgs Hospice provides specialist palliative, respite, symptom-control and end-of-life care for people across the Bailiwick of Guernsey, as well as support for their families and carers.

Why is Les Bourgs Hospice important to Les Buttes

The Hospice provided Mum, Josephine, with invaluable respite care and supported Dad, Martin, while he cared for her. The compassion and practical support they gave our family meant a great deal to us, which is why Les Bourgs will always have a special place in the story of Les Buttes.

How are we supporting Les Bourgs Hospice

We will be taking part in 30 Bays in 30 Days in support of Les Bourgs Hospice. We also want to encourage visitors staying at Les Buttes to take part in 9 Bays in 30 Days — the more relaxed, family-friendly version of the challenge — while they are in Guernsey.

It is a simple way to connect a Guernsey holiday with a local cause that means a great deal to our family, while discovering some of the island's beaches along the way.

Cause we support

Cardiac Action Group

Heart-health awareness and life-saving defibrillator access across Guernsey.

Who are the Cardiac Action Group

The Guernsey Cardiac Action Group promotes awareness of heart health and helps maintain the island's growing network of Public Access Defibrillators, making life-saving equipment available in the community when it is needed.

Why is the Cardiac Action Group important to Les Buttes

Martin lived with a heart condition for much of his life, so heart health is another cause with a strong personal connection for our family.

How are we supporting the Cardiac Action Group

We are helping to highlight the Cardiac Action Group's work, keeping heart-health awareness and the island's public-access defibrillator network visible through Les Buttes and our guest information.

As our charity programme develops, this is one of the local causes we hope to champion further.
